Maria De Ambrogio and Stella Tosco have been collaborating for over 15 years, weaving a creative journey that merges design with artistic research. Their new Project Room for the Carlina Restaurant & Bar unfolds as a journey through different disciplines and languages.

They worked with a series of photographs taken by Ivan Cazzola for the SS26 and transformed them into living, textured surfaces. The shots, which focused on everyday gestures involving fruit and vegetables, became the starting point for the project.

Manual intervention in the form of three-dimensional collages of fabrics, threads and embroidery recalls the tradition of XVII and XVIII century dressed prints, in which the image was enriched with real, tangible elements.

The materiality and physical presence of the textiles are at the heart of the story: a patchwork shirt made from archive fabrics and small embroideries emerges from the image, while machine embroidery follows its contours.
Next to it, crocheted tomatoes introduce an organic and tactile dimension, intertwining craftsmanship and a contemporary aesthetic.

The result is a hybrid work suspended between photography and textile sculpture: a three-dimensional texture that evokes matter, memory, and the artisanal poetics that are the hallmarks of serien°umerica.
